Layout and design for a new album from Area, released in 2012 on the venerable Wave Music label.



This project was something of a process experiment for me.



The layout I had in mind was incredibly simple, but due to the nature of the packaging, it was not expressed well in flat art.



So I modeled the CD and its packaging in 3D and used renderings to refine and present the design.



This was a huge help in expressing the look of the package as complete object, rather than a series of disconnected surfaces.

Steven Hawley (of Codebreaker) imagined his new label, Disco Demolition as being a throwback to a different era. Inspired by 12" single artwork of the late 70s and early 80s, the Disco Demolition sleeve and center label are a tribute to glitter-filled nights, neon, and stars.
